London Eye

General Information

The London Eye is the world's highest observation wheel. Paris has the Eiffel Tower, New York the Empire State, and now London has the British Airways London Eye – a modern symbol for 21st Century Britain. Situated in the heart of London, the world’s largest observation wheel is a spectacular way to take in over 55 of London’s famous landmarks in just 30 minutes! A flight on the London Eye takes you an incredible 135 metres above the River Thames and can offer guests amazing awe-inspiring panoramic views over and around London spanning 25 miles in all directions. At 450ft high, The London Eye has 32 capsules, each carrying 25 guests for a 30 minute journey through the most spectacular views of the capital.

How to Get There

British Airways London Eye is situated on the South Bank of the River Thames, opposite Big Ben. The ticket office is located inside County Hall, which is the building directly next to the London Eye.

The London Eye is approximately five minutes walking distance from the Waterloo tube and train stations (take exit 6 and follow the signs for the South Bank) and Westminster tube station (exit one, follow signs for Westminster pier).

The Eye is 15 minutes from Charing Cross train station, which is accessed via Hungerford pedestrian bridge.

Buses to the London Eye include the 211, 24 and 11. The Eye is on most London sightseeing bus tours and on the new RV1 route that connects the London Eye to the Tate Modern and Covent Garden.

Parking

We advise against driving to the London Eye. However if you do drive, there are three car parks within walking distance located around the South Bank area.

Dining Facilities

There are two Costa Coffee outlets which offer a range of tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes. One is situated inside the County Hall, which is the building adjacent to the London Eye. The other is opposite the gift shop outside.

Disabled Access

The London Eye has full disabled access both on to the Eye and to use all the facilities inside County Hall, which incorporates the ticket hall, disabled toilet facilities and Costa Coffee. London Eye’s River Cruise Experience also has full disabled access.

Toilets & Baby Changing Facilities

There are toilets with disabled access and baby changing facilities.

Age & Height Restrictions

There are no age and height restrictions on the London Eye, although baby pushchairs cannot be taken onboard for health and safety issues.
