The ride has 3 drops of varying heights, and generates up to 3G’s and a speed of 35 knots. It has been described as ‘The best water ride in the country’.

Apocalypse
Named as Britain’s scariest ride by the Sunday Times, Drayton Manor’s Apocalypse is a 5 sided free-fall tower ride 54 metres (177 ft) high. Each side has a different form of seating 2 side’s are sit down, 2 sides stand up and 1 side, named ‘The Fifth Element’ is stand up and floorless. It was the only stand-up tower drop in the world until 2005 when Hurakan Condor opened in Port Aventura.
Victims/riders hang at an angle of 20 degrees before dropping 54 meters in 4 seconds, generating 4G’s before the rare earth magnet brakes bring the cars to a steady stop.
G Force
The second X-Car coaster to be built, Drayton Manor’s G Force incorporates ‘Big Boy’ seats with hip restraints instead of the more common shoulder restraints which give you a unique rollercoaster experience.
The coaster drops out of the station before climbing 23 meters up a humpty bump lift. It also includes a backward roll of -1G, a steep loop with a top speed of 70 kmph and a ‘Bent Cuban Eight’ an element that is modelled on aerobatic manoeuvres. Riders experience 4.3G on the 385 metre long ride.
Pandemonium
This swinging inverter ride will turn your world upside down. Opened in 2004 at a cost of £1,000,000 Drayton Manor’s Pandemonium is rated as one of the most intense theme park rides around.
The ride has two large swinging gondolas that hold 64 riders and feature over the shoulder restraints and a large lap bar. The two cars swing progressively higher, in opposite directions, until they swing right over 360 degrees at the height of 24.7 m creating 3.8Gs.
Maelstrom
One of Drayton Manor’s most popular attractions, Maelstrom is a gyro swing ride with 32 outward-facing seats on a circular gondola, it swings up to a maximum height of 22.5 m at an angle of 95 to 120 degrees while simultaneously revolving at 5 rpm.
The ride combined with the coastal village theme of destruction and washed up debris really gives rider the experience of being caught in the eye of a storm!
