Dive beneath the waves without getting wet in this amazing Sea Life Centre, where you will come face to face with sea creatures of astonishing variety. You will journey from freshwater stream to coastal waters and beyond to the deep North Sea and finally the tropical ocean, via an underwater tunnel through a display housing tropical sharks, sea turtles and colourful reef fish. New this year…a Penguin Sanctuary.
Great Yarmouth SEA LIFE dares you to enter their exciting new feature, Pirate Cove, and search for your very own pirate treasure. But beware, it’s closely guarded by venomous lionfish, moray eels and jellyfish as well as some fearsome pirates – you could end up walking the plank!
Claws
Giant Japanese Spider Crabs take centre stage this year in our fantastic new Claws exhibition. These extraordinary crabs can grow up to three metres across!
Penguins
We are thrilled this year to have welcomed a colony of Humboldt penguins…all of them bred at our sister SEA LIFE attractions. These endearing and sometimes comical creatures come from the coasts of Chile and Peru where there are estimated to be fewer than 10,000 pairs still surviving. Colonies like ours may one day provide a vital lifeline for this endangered species. Their disappearance would certainly be a tragic loss to the animal kingdom.
Some of the most beautiful and most primitive of the ocean’s inhabitants will take centre stage in Great Yarmouth’s new feature Jellies. With recent invasions of even some tropical jellyfish into British waters, this feature is sure to attract a lot of attention.
Many of the creatures you will see come from the seas around our own coastline. Informative talks and feeding presentations throughout the day provide a deeper insight into all of our fascinating creatures and how you can help to protect their future.
Our younger visitors can explore the soft play area whilst you relax in the comfortable restaurant or browse in the themed gift shop, where there is something for everyone.
