Experience the Ultimate Rollercoaster, TH13TEEN another world first at the Alton Towers Resort.
Th13teen, the ultimate world-first ride launches in 2010 and includes the world’s first free fall drop! Experience the unexpected upon the latest exhilarating rollercoaster which will join a long line of world first attractions at the Alton Towers Resort including "Nemesis", "Oblivion" and "Air". The unbelievable ride is located on an unearthed ancient burial site in an area of unexplored woodland known as the Dark Forest. Built on the site of the old Corkscrew rollercoaster, visitors will be invited to take a thrilling ride on TH13TEEN, venturing into the seemingly living and breathing Dark Forest. There they will face an unknown horror that has been unleashed from the ancient crypt. Guaranteed to exploit your vulnerabilities and play with your mind, TH13TEEN is the ultimate theme park thrill ride - every ride you’ve ever dreamed of in one. Never before has so much theme park technology been combined in one fantastically thrilling ride.
Sonic Spinball
Alton Towers Resort’s famed attraction Spinball Whizzer has received an exciting makeover. The Resort has teamed up with iconic video gaming character, Sonic The Hedgehog, to be the new face of the ride Sonic Spinball. Famous for his incredible speed and spin attack, this gaming icon is the ideal character to re-launch Spinball Whizzer giving each rider a unique experience by spinning and dropping in different directions, allowing you to ping and spring your way around this pinball-themed twisted track that is full of surprises! Alton Towers Resort’s guests will also have the chance to relax in the Sonic The Hedgehog room at the Alton Towers hotel. The rooms will be fully themed around the Sonic universe. Guests can also enjoy playing the latest Sonic games in the dedicated gaming area of the room.
Unlimited Thrills
The Alton Towers Resort is renowned for ground-breaking, world-first rollercoaster’s. Experience the turbulent twists and turns of Nemesis. Reaching speeds of up to 81 kph, guests are inverted upside down numerous times, experiencing a g-force of 4, before being thrown out of the clutches of this metal monster! Face your fears on Oblivion and be suspended at a height of 180 feet, before dropping at a force of 4.5 Gs. The jaw-dropping ride at the Alton Towers Resort was the world’s very first vertical drop roller coaster. Float, swoop, soar and dive on Air and feel the excitement of being weightless like you are flying. The unique experience gives you a true feeling of flight, liberation and windswept exhilaration. Experience Rita, but hold on to your eyeballs as you’re catapulted at tremendous speed, reaching 0-100km/ph in 2.5 seconds. The sheer acceleration will leave you breathless and you will come off tingling with excitement.
Endless family fun
Explore the hidden shipwreck of underwater fun, Sharkbait Reef by SEA LIFE located in the pirate-themed Mutiny Bay, and come face to face with creatures from the deepest depths of the World’s seas and oceans. Cloud Cuckoo Land, an area full of fantabulous fun is especially for our younger guests, featuring live entertainment and characters, fantastic indoor soft play facilities and surprises at every turn
The fun never stops as children learn to drive at the Peugeot Driving School, ride the Congo River Rapids, enjoy thrills on the Sonic Spinball and take an animal-tastic cruise on the Riverbank Eye Spy. Youngsters can also interact with the extraordinary animals and meet the incredible giant bunnies in Old MacDonald’s Farmyard before performing with Captain Black and his fellow pirates within the live Courtyard show in Mutiny Bay. Plus, family fun is made easy with a fantastic scheme for parents. The Parent Q-Share Pass allows one adult to stand in the queue for a ride whilst freeing the other to wander around with smaller children. Once one adult has ridden, they swap parent care duties, hand over the Pass and the other can ride without having to queue.
Alton Towers Waterpark
Soak up some watery fun at the Caribbean themed water park where you can be blasted up and away by the fantastic Masterblaster wet rollercoaster or explore the Wacky Waterworks and Treehouse before relaxing in the Lazy River or Bubbly Wubbly pool! There’s plenty of adrenalin pumping water thrills for the whole family, including the Little Leak – a shallow area full of interactive play features and slides for tiny tots.

Alton Towers Resortis going ‘Dung-Ho’ with the opening of an adventure playground for younger children themed around the peculiarly British, and eternally fascinating, topic of ‘dung’.
‘There’s something in the Dung Heap’ features everything you’d expect from a ‘dung’ experience and more. Interactive play areas include a Spider ‘Springy Cobweb Climbing zone’, a ‘Creepy Crawly Basharound’, Toxic Bog ‘Toadstool Boingupons’ and a Mushroom maze! Kids can also join in the Bug Chorus in the Soil Albug Hall, zip along on a silken zip wire, spring across a bog and even become a conductor in the trash can symphony, while parents watch from the trunk of a beanstalk.
Haunted Hollow - Dare you take the short-cut through the haunted wood??
Fearless families visiting Alton Towers Resort will be able to brave a visit to the Haunted Hollow, IF they dare to take the short-cut to Forbidden Valley. Located in an area of Alton Towers Resorts ancient and wild woodland, the sinister trail will take visitors on an eerie adventure rooted in the history of the Park and its original inhabitants, whose ancestors are buried within its grounds.
Extraordinary Golf
The sport of golf takes on a new direction at Alton Towers Resort for 2008. Forget crazy golf, urban golf and even guerrilla golf, the next big thing is Extraordinary Golf, which offers the putter a miniature 18-hole golf course heavily customised and themed around the park’s signature rides and attractions. Players of all ages will be able to putt their way into Oblivion, through waterfalls, over Nemesis and around the roundabouts of the Peugeot 207 Driving School! Note: a separate entry charge applies.
